Below is a photo of Carmelo Valentine’s (the main villain) hideout where it’s unknown to the FBI that he’s been using this location for a majority of his crimes.

In this scene, which is written as the introduction to the film before the credits roll, we are introduced to the main antagonist of the film and his goons – Carmelo valentine. In a brief conversation between Dutch (to the right in photo above) and Carmelo we learn that the F.B.I. is well aware of Carmelo’s illegal organization. As he sarcastically points out that a dozen authorities are on the way to save him, Dutch begins to taunt Carmelo about how careless he’s been and how easy it was, as an undercover agent, to infiltrate his operation. It’s then, that we realize help isn’t on the way for Dutch and Carmelo is the one with the upper hand…and then Bang. Game over.
We had an interesting day filming this scene (everyone there can attest to that). The warehouse we originally planned on using had actually turned up to be dead-bolted closed an hour before we were set to film. Of course it may have had something to do with the fact that the previous night a massive tornado struck downtown Atlanta – and this was only several miles away from the disaster area. So we stumbled upon a vacant building (so we thought) that was still under construction and began shooting away after an hour of make up prep (which turned out to be very professionally done). I’ll leave the details out of what happened during the filming process (for legal reasons), but let’s just say we had to do a bit of acting ourselves when the authorities showed up!
The scene turned out very well and we wrapped within 6 hours.

The purpose of this scene was to introduce the character known as “Angel” who is anything but. Keith Seymour plays the character of Angel who is a well known career criminal and one of the city’s biggest bookies. Several years ago, he treated Mitch (played by Bryant Norman) like a son, teaching him all the angles of sports betting and gambling. He helped Mitch make enough money over the years that he could afford to put himself through college and survive on the streets.
After losing thirty thousand dollars of Angel’s money, the next day Mitch visits his girlfriend at work and to his surprise Angel and one of his toughest goons, Butchy (played by Dhata Harris), is already engaged in a conversation with her. He gives Mitch a one month deadline to pay his money back or face brutal consequences.
Filming this scene was a lot of fun and probably took all of three to four hours to shoot once everything was setup and the actors rehearsed their lines. Once again, we shot this with a skeleton crew, but due to the great weather and minimal amount of pages (5 or 6), we were in and out.
